Summary |
This proposal seeks funds to investigate how linear processing of one dimensional (1-D) signals might be undertaken in the transform domain of the Wavelet transform and the Wavelet Packet Algorithm. To do this requires some fundamental development in shiftable Wavelet Bases. These will be used to formulate algorithms for the FIR filtering, Fourier transformation, Discrete Cosine transformation and Interpolation of signals in a Wavelet representation. The results of this work might be applied to broadcast and music industries and also extended to deal with 2-D (image) and 3-D (video) processing.
